Reported by: Marissa Torres WCIA/MyCFN Friday, Jul 17, 2009 @09:16pm CDT SPRINGFIELD- The Capitol City is back in the national spot light, but this time it's all about chowing down.
Adam Richman from the show Man v. Food on The Travel Channel is known for stirring up the spot light on local restaurants. His show looks for unique treats that can be a city's best kept secret. This time he's in Springfield and the first course- D'Arcy's Pint. We weren't able to see what Richman was up to. But we definitely know what he was after. The Horse Shoe. It's about 2 pounds of meat... topped with fries... loaded with cheese; and all of that is piled on top of a slice of bread. D'Arcy's Pint employees say more than 500 are sold everyday and now word of it's popularity is putting Springfield back on the radar. The arrest and impeachment of former Governor Blagojevich left a bad taste in many peoples' mouths. Illinoisans said he was embarrassing and shameful for our state. But now they're hoping this wills serve up a different side to the Capitol City. |
