SPRINGFIELD - Someone vandalized a traveling sculpture of President Barack Obama in Springfield.
  It's touring the country making stops in more than a dozen towns.
  The vandals wrote"420" in green spray paint on the side of the president’s face. It happened outside the Old State Capitol where the president launched his campaign.
  The artist displaying the sculpture covered up the graffiti, but they snapped a few pictures of the damage first.
  They're not sure why someone would target the sculpture. They haven't had problems in other towns.
  The president's connections to Springfield make this even more frustrating.
  “It really did surprise us here in Springfield. I mean this a very patriotic town the home of Lincoln. We kind of expected it a bit in other areas, but we totally didn't expect it here,” said organizer Dave Olmstead.
  Police had extra patrols in the area overnight, but say they have no witnesses to the crime or any suspects.
