Reported by: Cortney Hall Monday, Apr 20, 2009 @06:27pm CDT A club called the green tigers is putting recycling bins all over the school.
Also during lunch students in the club are collecting trash and sorting through it. They plan to weigh everything to figure out how much they throw away that should be recycled. “Some kids can't identify what's recyclable and what is not and I think that'll be a learning process,” said Matthew Sly a teacher at Urbana High School. “Just helping kids be more aware when they make choices of what kind of waste they're producing.” The Green Tigers are also selling energy efficient light bulbs this week. |
