Jenny says her curiosity and
passion for telling stories are qualities that fueled her desire to become a
reporter. That’s why being a member of
the WCIA3 news team is what she calls “a dream come true.”
“I get to meet new people every
day and give their stories a voice,” she said.
“There’s nothing more rewarding than to gain someone’s trust and to show
him or her you’re there to listen.”
Born and raised in the northwest
suburbs of Chicago, Jenny grew up hooked on local news. As a child, she admired reporters’ abilities
to craft good journalism and looked forward to the day when she’d fill their
shoes.
While studying English at the
University of Michigan, Jenny spent a summer interning for the WMAQ news
department in Chicago. She then earned
her masters degree from Northwestern University Medill Graduate School of
Journalism. As a part of her training,
Jenny spent three months in the nation’s capitol as the Washington
correspondent for WILX-TV in Lansing, MI.
She also spent her weekends as an intern at the CBS Evening News
Washington bureau.
Today, Jenny couldn’t be happier
living in Central Illinois and being a part of the WCIA news family.
In her free time, Jenny enjoys
hitting the road on new adventures, visiting with family and friends and playing
with her two Golden Retrievers.
