She'll tell us how dispose of dangerous household chemicals in an environmentally friendly way. An upcoming event offers free recycling to people near Vermilion County.
Acceptable Items: Oil-based paints, paint thinners, herbicides, insecticides, pool chemicals, pesticides, prescription drugs, household and automotive batteries, drain cleaners, solvents, hobby chemicals, cleaning products, mercury thermometers, used motor oil, lawn chemicals, anti-freeze, old gasoline, aerosol paint, CFL(curly-cue) and flourescent bulbs. Unacceptable Items: Agricultural wastes, medical wastes, farm machinery oil, business and commercial waste, propane tanks, fire extinguishers, explosives and fireworks, smoke detectors, institutional wastes. PLEASE DO NOT BRING LATEX PAINT--it can be disposed of safely by opening the can and allowing it to dry or pouring it onto cardboard to dry. It is not hazardous in the landfill.
