Kristi Hudson, with "Keep Vermilion County Beautiful" is here for today's Go Green. She'll tell us how dispose of dangerous household chemicals in an environmentally friendly way. An upcoming event offers free recycling to people near Vermilion County.

Acceptable Items:
Oil-based paints, paint thinners, herbicides, insecticides, pool chemicals, pesticides, prescription drugs, household and automotive batteries, drain cleaners, solvents, hobby chemicals, cleaning products, mercury thermometers, used motor oil, lawn chemicals, anti-freeze, old gasoline, aerosol paint, CFL(curly-cue) and flourescent bulbs.

Unacceptable Items:
Agricultural wastes, medical wastes, farm machinery oil, business and commercial waste, propane tanks, fire extinguishers, explosives and fireworks, smoke detectors, institutional wastes.

PLEASE DO NOT BRING LATEX PAINT--it can be disposed of safely by opening the can and allowing it to dry or pouring it onto cardboard to dry. It is not hazardous in the landfill.
