“I want to bring real news to real people,” Amanda Evans stated, “There are some pretty amazing people out there and I feel honored to be their voice.” Evans grew up in Indianapolis then attended Millikin University in Decatur, Illinois, where she received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication. Evans started out as an intern at WCIA. After graduation she knew she wanted to be apart of this dedicated team. In 2006 Evans became the bureau chief in the Decatur newsroom, after more than a year there she made her way to Champaign. Traveling central Illinois is what Evans says she does best, "I love that one day I'm in Danville, then Gibson city, maybe a stop in Mattoon, you just never know where you're going to land and each city has a different flare." In Evans' spare time she loves working out, spending time with family and friends, traveling, cooking, and decorating. “A news leader is someone you can trust,” Evans said “News leaders strive to bring their viewers breaking news first and work hard to tackle the issues that matter.” |
