Reported by: Betty Simpson/WCIA-3 News Tuesday, Sep 30, 2008 @08:20am CDT As Champiagn-Urbana becomes more bike friendly, it's good to learn from other communities. Cynthia Hoyle, planner with the CUMTD is here for today's Go Green segment.
What was the recent tour you were on in the Pacific Northwest? What are these communities doing that could transfer to CU? These communities are transforming themselves into sustainable places to live, work and play, that provide their residents with affordable choices in housing and transportation while decreasing their impact on the environment. They are doing this by planning and designing their towns to be places where people can walk, bike, use transit or drive to shop, work, play and live. Is it more expensive? Describe some of these pictures you took? |
