Kalee says by age five she knew her passion was weather! She jokes, "Who needs cartoons, if you’ve got The Weather Channel." "Weather is so fascinating! No matter how much you study and learn about the atmosphere or weather patterns, there is always something you didn't know.”Born and raised in a small town in Kankakee County, Kalee grew up watching WCIA-3 News. She is very excited to be given the opportunity to fill the shoes of those she admired. She hopes that she can be someone the people of central Illinois can trust and enjoy day after day. "Central Illinois is my home and what a better way to spend your day, than working to help the area and the people you grew up around." Kalee began at Lincoln College in Lincoln and transferred to Southern Illinois University Carbondale, where she received her bachelor's degree in Radio/Television Broadcasting. Kalee worked as a Weather Anchor/Supervisor, Reporter, Anchor, and Producer at S.I.U.’s station, River Region Evening Edition. While she was there, the student program won state and national awards. Kalee also interned and later worked as a weathercaster at the ABC affiliate in Southern Illinois, WSIL-TV. Now, she is excited to join the WCIA team. In her free time, Kalee enjoys singing and dancing, exercising, playing softball, and hanging out with family and friends. |
