Reported by: Jeff Wagner WCIA-3 Thursday, Nov 5, 2009 @06:30pm CST People will get a behind the scenes look at their local government.
The city is starting a video series called "inside city hall" The videos will go behind of the police station and fire department. But that's not all. Organizers are asking the public for what they want to see. It's all part of Decatur's push to get the community involved. "We’re going to work harder to kind of engage the public as well. and it won't just be us pushing information, we'll be taking ideas and information from the public as well,” said Assistant City Manager Billy Tyus. “Again, I always say it's not our government, it's the public's government." You can leave video suggestions on Decatur's Facebook page. Or call the city manager's office. |
