Major David Audo, a St. Joseph native, died in Iraq last week from a non-combat related incident. His body was flown to Willard airport in Savoy today. Dozens of police and fire vehicles escorted his body back to a funeral home in St. Joseph. Hundreds of people lined the street along the procession route to show respect, and say thank you for his sacrifice. Audo started his military career at the University of Illinois. He was a part of the ROTC. The current ROTC class saluted him during the procession, at the request of his mother. He leaves behind a wife and two children. They lived in Kansas. |
