Reported by: Tinisha Shade WCIA 3 Tuesday, Oct 27, 2009 @06:10pm CDT A lot of communities across Central Illinois have been getting more doses of the vaccine, while others are still waiting to get their clinics started.
The Macon County Health Department had a clinic last week but added two more days this week. Today's clinic is over, but there is another one Friday. That shot is only available by appointment, so you'll have to call ahead to get the vaccine there. You also need to be in that high risk group we've been talking about. Updates in other counties: ~ Champaign County Public Health District has a clinic going now until seven at the Rantoul community center... It will also start targeting grade school kids later this week. ~Sangamon county received another big shipment of both h-1-n-1 and seasonal flu vaccines. That's 5-thousand h-1-h-1, and 6-thousand seasonal flu shots. Those are given Monday through Friday, by appointment. ~ Vermilion County will start its clinics a week from today. About 18-thousand doses will be given out there. |
