CHAMPAIGN - Police can't remember the last time this happened.  But it shook up homeowners in one neighborhood.  In Crime Watch tonight, the bizarre accident that has investigators trying to find the driver of a dark blue car.  The car was at the corner of Belmeade and Maywood Drives Friday morning, September 25th.  A woman was walking across the street when the car hit her.  Police say the 46-year old woman was hit on purpose.  And that's not all.  They say the driver threatened to beat her up.  Christopher Young with the Champaign Police Department says, "He exited his vehicle, shouted some threats at her, got back into his vehicle and fled the scene."  The woman was not seriously hurt.  The driver's described as a white man possibly in his 30's.  He was wearing glasses, had light brown hair with a full beard.  His build was described as pudgy.  He was driving an early 2000 dark blue four-door sedan.  The plate number may have started with G42.  If you have any information, call Champaign County Crimestoppers at 373-TIPS.  You can also send in a text tip on your cell phone or a web tip .  You don't have to give your name or testify in court and a reward is offered.
