Reported by: Erin Maloney/WCIA 3 News Wednesday, Aug 26, 2009 @06:16pm CDT An 80 year old Rantoul woman is in the hospital after she says a Pitbull attacked her. It happened last week at her home. Eleanor McDonald broke her hip and her hand. Her son is looking for answers.
McDonald's son Richard says his mother is fighting for her life. He says Eleanor was taking her dog outside. That's when she says a Pitbull came around the corner and knocked her down, driving her across the driveway. The fall broke her hip and her hand. She's got the bumps and bruises to prove it. Neighbors pulled the dog off. They say the pit bull mix belonged to a person nearby. But no one's owning up to it. "Her life has been altered from now until the day she dies as a direct result of this incident. Sad part of that is nobody feels responsible for it, no one has come forward and said "I'm sorry this happened," said Richard McDonald. The dog is with Champaign County animal control tonight. No charges have been filed. |
