SPRINGFIELD- A local marine is remembered by friends and family.
   19 year old Derek DeWitt died Saturday in an ATV accident. The Hamel native had been visiting family in the small town of Waverly.
   Police say he lost control of the ATV and crashed into a parked tractor trailer. He later died from severe head and stomach trauma.
   Family members held a small memorial service for DeWitt Monday night.
   The funeral will be held Thursday, 11 am, at the Neece Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Waverly
