Question 11: What classes/degrees does DACC offer online?
Answer: DACC offers over 100 courses online, including those that satisfy the degree or certificate programs for Accounting, Marketing, Travel and Tourism, and ASA Transfer degree. For a full listing of online courses each semester, check the semester schedules on the DACC web site and select “online offerings only” at www.dacc.edu/schedules. Question 12: Will my classes transfer? Answer: The Credit Transfer Guarantee promises that any course taken and approved by DACC will transfer to the college or university that the student has selected. If a course which has been approved does not transfer, the College will refund the tuition and fees for the course. Students must meet with and register with an Academic Advisor or Counselor to follow the proper transfer procedures and validate the Credit Transfer Guarantee. Question 13: Does DACC have wireless access? Answer: There is public (open) wireless access in designated areas campus-wide, including the Library, Student Union, and Bremer Conference and Workforce Development Center. Question 14: When can I register for classes? Answer: While actual dates vary, in general, registration for the summer and fall semesters begins during the last week of March or first week of April and registration for Winter Term and the spring semester begins during the last week of October or the first week of November. Question 15: Can I register online? Answer: Students must be pre-approved to register themselves through our current Online Student Services. To gain the required access, students must meet requirements specific to their educational goal. Counselors and Advisors will assist degree, certificate, and transfer-seeking students. Question 16: Does DACC offer assistance for students with disabilities? Answer: Special assistance for students with disabilities is available through the Student Support Services office. Question 17: Where can I get help with my resume and career choices? Answer: The Career Services office is located in Lincoln Hall near the Student Union. Career Services offers free assistance to any member of the community with resume writing and career counseling and assessment. Answer: DACC prefers that students, other than dual enrollment students, have a high school diploma or GED before they start attending college-level courses; however, GED preparation courses are available through the DACC Adult Basic Education division. Prospective students who have a high school diploma or GED, but need to brush up their academic skills prior to enrolling in college-level courses may enroll in Developmental courses to improve their proficiency. Answer: Yes, non-credit courses, workshops, and customized corporate training programs are available through the Corporate and Community Education Division at DACC.
